Strategic Product Development Partnership :
For a Fortune 500 publishing house & e-book vendor, we supported the entire suite of Higher Education eLearning products used by millions of students across thousands of universities, as well as the underlying infrastructure. Some of the good stuff we did includes developing their flagship Online Learning Resource supporting 200 micro-portals for buyers of its print books & a brand new online-only Homework Management System. These products drastically increased the number of users, helped sell print books and brought in significant online revenue. We also helped the client implement an online ad revenue strategy to tap into the large online traffic. We also developed and/or enhanced the supporting infrastructure such as the content management system, customer registration & purchase system, & a centralized product configuration engine.
Data-warehouse & Business Intelligence System Re-engineering :
For a Fortune 500 & one of the largest providers of risk management, services, insurance & reinsurance brokerage services, we created a well-adopted Business Intelligence system for business users that provides useful insights into effectiveness of sales & marketing strategies. In the process, we re-engineered the enterprise data warehouse, which hadn’t been used since 2004 because, with terabyte data, data loading took months. We re-engineered the data warehouse to reduce data loading to a couple of hours. We also proposed creating a new BI system to generate reports using the wealth of data now available in the new DW. We built a new BI system that helped business users gauge the effectiveness of the sales & marketing strategies while providing them useful insights into designing new sales strategies, especially for cross-selling & up-selling. We anchored this project from start to finish. We proposed the DW re-design, implemented it, designed the BI system & implemented it.
Web-based eLearning System Integration – Online Learning Center :
We enabled a Fortune 500 publishing house fight increasing commoditization of the text book space by providing buyers of its print books with a unique online training & evaluation system as an add-on. We not only built this system but also enhanced its attractiveness manifold by integrating content & grading systems from multiple reputed partners. We also made it simple for the product managers to modify these centers as well as add content from additional content providers without IT support. This product was a runaway hit since it presented a compelling value proposition to students as well as instructors thus boosting revenues of its print books. By packaging this system as a stand-alone online product, the client could also create a new revenue stream.
Web-based eLearning ecommerce System – Customer Registration System :
For a leading publishing company, we designed and developed a web-based Customer Registration System(CRS) which served as a single gateway for every online learning product sold by the company. The new system allowed end-users to easily register, purchase & access learning resources while enhancing the client’s revenue stream by enabling external content providers to sell related learning resources. The system boasted of several advantages lacking in the replaced system. These include scalability with a rapidly expanding user base, total internationalization support, easy-to-use UI for end-users & an in-built ecommerce module for purchase. The new CRS also allowed IT-independent customization such as branding specific to educational institutions as well as product specific workflow.
